Rebecca Ruben Smith is a highly-regarded practitioner in the arts and cultural sector. Trained as a musician and educator, Ms. Smith has devoted her career to the arts and other nonprofit organizations. She is a skilled facilitator of diverse search committees charged with the task of selecting executive and senior leadership for orchestras, festivals, botanical gardens, museums, and other cultural institutions.

Herbert C. Smith, Ph.D. has dedicated his career to helping people, as an educator, executive recruiter, and executive coach. An expert on leadership, organizational effectiveness, and change management, Dr. Smith is consistently in high demand for his confidential and customized executive coaching and counseling services.

Rebecca Ruben Smith, Managing Director, is a management generalist who brings a broad perspective to all search activities.  She has been conducting senior level search assignments in nonprofit management, arts and entertainment, marketing, communications and consumer businesses since 1985. 

With over twenty years of experience as an arts practitioner, board member, and facilitator, E.B. Smith has always approached his time in arts organizations large and small with an eye to developing strategies to eradicate oppressive practices within the work. It is his mission to facilitate the cultivation and cooperation of leaders from every cross section of our society, and across cultural traditions.

Judith Frankfurt, Consultant for H C Smith Ltd, is a seasoned arts administrator with extensive involvement in performing and visual arts organizations. She works in the areas of executive search and recruitment, strategic planning, board development, budgeting and finance, human resources, artistic planning and organizational development.  She is skilled in fostering collegial teams for the success of mission-driven strategic growth.

Wendy-Marie Martin is a scholar/artist currently pursuing her PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts//Theater and Playwriting at Ohio University. Her areas of research include intersectional feminist theatre and 20th/21st century American playwrights who identify as women. Before coming to Ohio University, Wendy-Marie taught theater history at the Pacific Conservatory Theater, where she also directed for their educational outreach program.

Suzanne M. Wilson joined HC Smith Ltd in 2014, as a project manager for the firm. Suzanne coordinates industry and recruitment reaserch, reviews candidate qualification research and supports the work of the key partners of the firm. Suzanne’s other contributions include reviewing pending & current search credentials, and verification of candidate information.
